Sledging on Bussalp

If the conditions are good in terms of the snow, you can go sledging on the winter hiking trails and on the road from Bussalp to Weidli.

Before you head downhill on the sledge, you can make your first turns on a sledge in the Fun Snowpark. It doesn't always have to be with the classic sledge. You can also rent toboggans or bikes on site. If you haven't had enough in the evening, you can register for night sledging by 02:00 pm.

Important information for a successful excursion

Please note that on the sledging trail you can expect oncoming traffic from hikers and buses at times. In case of crossing course buses, you must stop and step off the sledge at the side of the trail. Several vehicles might drive behind each other in a convoy. The first vehicle sounds its horn and the last vehicle flashes its hazard lights. After the convoy has passed, you can continue your sledge ride.

  • Winter jacket, snow pants and gloves
  • High, sturdy shoes with goot tread
  • Helmet, headlamp (for night sledging) and ski goggles
  • Slegge or toboggan in perfect condition
  • Sledging is only allowed in a seated position.
  • Observe the signposting.
  • Ride only on signposted routes.
  • Adjust the speed and riding style to your ability and the conditions.
  • Be considerate of others.
  • Respect the lane of others and keep sufficient distance.
  • Overtake only with enough distance.
  • Look up before entering or exiting the trail.
  • For your safety and the safety of others, stop only at the side of the trail.
  • Step on and off the sledge on the side of the trail.
  • Leave the slope immediately after a fall.
  • Do not sledge unter the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
  • Provide assistance to others in the event of an accident.
  • Provide assistance to injured persons.
  • Secure and signal the accident site.
  • In an emergency, contact the rescue service.
  • Check the state of health, position the injured person properly and protect him/her from the cold. Attention! Do not remove the helmet from injured persons. Stabilise the head with both hands and keep still. Do not taken off shoes in case of leg injuries.
  • Remain on site until the arrival of the emergency services.
  • Give your personal details to the rescue service for furhter questions they might have.

Prices sledge rental

For your winter adventure, we offer toboggans and sledges for rent. A special highlight is the Bussalp toboggan. For the smallest among us, we offer sledges with child seats. The material can only be obtained from Bussalp.

Bussalp Exklusive

For groups of 20 people or more, we are also happy to take you to the Bussalp from Sunday to Wednesday evenings. Sledge with your colleagues and friends on the longest sledge trail in Europe and enjoy a delicious fondue (cheese) before or afterwards in the Bussalp mountain restaurant. For a pleasant outward and return journey, we will be happy to pick you up at the agreed meeting point and bring you back there safely.
