Low-floor buses and wheelchair ramps enable you – as a passenger with reduced mobility – to be mobile. Each of our buses has a wheelchair ramp. If the wheelchair is a maximum of 1.2 metres long and the total weight does not exceed 250 kg, access is granted.
Please note that the measures taken by GrindelwaldBus for travellers with reduced mobility do not necessarily comply with the legal requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (BehiG).
By the end of 2023, selected bus stops have been converted in line with the Disability Discrimination Act. The stops are defined by the road owner – i.e. the municipality or the canton.
Would you like to go on an excursion on a mountain line? Please contact us in advance by telephone or e-mail so that we can advise and support you on your journey.
Our tip: Buy your ticket directly from us at the sales point at Bahnhofplatz or from the driver on the bus. We will be happy to advise you.
STI is taking part in the «Hidden Disabilities Sunflower» initiative.
STI connects people and regions with life and the future. This also includes making sure all passengers can enjoy a journey that is as pleasant and independent as possible.
Many disabilities are not visible at first glance. These include, for example, autism, dementia, neurological and mental health conditions.
That is why STI Bus AG is taking part in the international «Hidden Disabilities Sunflower» initiative. People with invisible disabilities can choose to wear a sunflower lanyard. This allows them to discreetly draw attention to any support they may need. The sunflower lanyard is an internationally recognised symbol and helps our staff to better assess situations and offer support where necessary.
Important to note: The sunflower lanyard is not a travel ticket and does not entitle the wearer to any special privileges. It serves solely as a voluntary indication of a possible need for assistance.
Where can I get the
sunflower lanyard?
Passengers can get
the sunflower lanyard free of charge from the STI ticket shop at Thun railway
station and at the ticket office in Grindelwald. Further information
about the initiative can be found on the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower website.
We are happy to receive customer feedback via our contact form. We will then get in touch with you.
